Do you have what it takes?

To be a MAYJORAD’s Pharmacy Licensee (Manager), you must be a pharmacist in Alberta with Additional Prescribing Authority (APA), legally licensed to practice in Alberta.

 

Selected pharmacy manager/licensee will enter into professional corporation-professional corporation agreement with Mayjorad Pharmaceuticals Corporation after extensive screenings based upon their past performance and experience, an interview process, a review of appropriate references.

PHARMACY LICENSEE (MANAGER) RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Pharmacy staffing and operation

 

The licensee is responsible to ensure that the pharmacy is adequately staffed to undertake safe and effective pharmacy practice. This includes pharmacists, pharmacist locums, students, interns and technicians. 

 

Licensees must indicate to the college which pharmacists hold narcotic signing authority and the beginning and end dates of employment for all pharmacists, pharmacist locums, students, interns and technicians.

 

The licensee must advise Alberta College of Pharmacy (ACP) of the pharmacy hours of operation and any changes made to these hours.

 

If the pharmacy is operating as a lock and leave, the licensee must advise ACP and ensure the lock and leave operation is run safely and properly.

 

A licensee must ensure legislated requirements are met if the pharmacy will be operating temporarily without a pharmacist.

 

When a change in pharmacy premise licensee occurs (whether permanent or temporary, extending over 90 days, maternity leave, etc.), ACP must be advised. 

 

Physical environment

The licensee must ensure the physical requirements of a pharmacy adhere to the legislation and standards.

 

The licensee must ensure the licensed pharmacy has adequate equipment and systems in place.

 

The licensee must ensure pharmacy staff have adequate resources available within the pharmacy.

 

The licensee must ensure appropriate records are maintained.

 

The licensee must ensure products are maintained and stored appropriately within the pharmacy.

 

The licensee must ensure that a quality assurance process is implemented and maintained in the licensed pharmacy.

 

The licensee is responsible to ensure specific documents, such as the pharmacy licence, are appropriately displayed in the pharmacy.

 

The licensee must cooperate with practice visits conducted in accordance with legislation.

 

 

Corporate environment

 

The licensee is responsible to ensure that the licensed pharmacy operates in accordance with the legislation and complies with any conditions imposed on the license.

 

The licensee is responsible for all applications and documents required in order to complete the process for opening a new pharmacy, a pharmacy change of owner, a relocation or a renovation. 

 

For all of these changes except a pharmacy change of ownership, the licensee is also responsible to ensure adequate floor plans have been provided to ACP. ACP will provide the licensee with a document detailing what information these floor plans must include.

 

The licensee is responsible to ensure any website established for the pharmacy conforms to legislated requirements.

 

The licensee is responsible to report any proprietor who attempts or directs the management of a licensed pharmacy in a way that contravenes or could result in a contravention of any legislation or standards.

 

Pharmacy renewal

The licensee is responsible to ensure all documentation related to the renewal of a pharmacy license is completed and submitted within the appropriate time frame.

We are looking for Pharmacy Assistants to join our Pharmacy teams in our Tamarack Centre and Synergy Centre locations. The Pharmacy Assistant position requires a professional that is personable, patient and demonstrates an ability of being calm under a variety of situations.

 

These are full time positions in a fast-paced, busy environments. We offer a competitive compensation package.

 

PHARMACY ASSISTANT RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Assist the pharmacist with the preparation, packaging, and distribution of prescriptions.

Order prescription medications, diabetes supplies, and behind the counter OTC medications and receive/verify incoming pharmaceutical orders.

Maintain client and drug information files and gathering of all necessary information while ensuring the completeness of information.

Third party insurance billing and reconciliation.

Provide knowledgeable and exceptional client care and customer service.

Greet clients and acknowledge waiting clients, offer assistance. 

Ensure service is maintained at levels above industry standards.

Assist with client consultation via telephone.

Responsible for accurately and efficiently completing all cash register transactions in a courteous, prompt and accurate manner, including following all company accounting procedures.

Maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Professional work ethic, ensuring confidentiality of client records and medical information.

Contributes to promoting a positive, friendly, safe, and healthy environment for all staff and clients.

Other responsibilities as outlined by the Managing Pharmacist.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

The successful candidate will possess an excellent work ethic, proven ability to multi-task and communicate with clients in a pleasant manner at all times.

Must also possess meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.

Provide excellent and informed client care.

Self motivated, career focused professional, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Experience in a fast-paced environment, juggling multiple demands and establishing work priorities and goals.

Experience working in the dispensary and very strong track record for accuracy in all dispensary duties, as well as a solid understanding of dispensary computer systems is preferred.

Display excellent reliability, initiative, and team work.

Must be available to work a rotation of days, evenings, weekends and holidays.

CLIENT CARE REPRESENTATIVES RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide knowledgeable client care and customer service with respect to product location, selection, and information.

Greet, acknowledge, and offer assistance to waiting clients. Ensure service is maintained at levels above industry standards.
